Class Notes for January 21, 2025

 Notes from Fall Session

Adult Tap, Wednesdays 1:00 

 

Sitting Warm-up: 

Ankle rolls

Flex and point

Ball point ball flex

Top of foot stretch

Toe isolations

 

Technique Reminders:  Stay just off your heels, keep your knees soft

When you brush, use only the ball of the foot

 

At the barre:  

Flaps:  brush, toe down (no weight change)

Shuffles:  brush fwd, brush back (or side)

Heel to the side, tap toe in back, step together (alternates sides)

Ball change: step on the ball of the foot bk or side, step on the other foot completely.  Repeats without changing feet.

 

Across the floor: 

Toe heel: Step on the ball, drop the heel,  changing weight.  Alternate (travels)

 

Walking flaps: Flap forward, changing weight.  Alternate (travels)

Shuffle step: Shuffle fwd, bk, step.  Alternates.

 

Combinations you have learned: 

11/19 Flap 3x, ball change/ RLR, bcLR – alternates

Shuffle hop step/shR, hopL, stpR – alternates

 

11/26 New:  cramp rolls: toe toe heel heel (RLRL)

Flap heel heel  (R L R)  

Back flaps 

Back flaps with heel drop

 

12/10

New:  Hop shuffle step 3 times (alternates) rhythm: 1 and uh 2

          Hop shuffle ball change        and 1 and 2

Add:  3 cramp rolls, leap tip toe (behind)  2 times

 

Buffalo:  leap shuffle leap, baby leaps with first foot starting across front of leg:  leap R, shuffle L to side, leap L
